Ghana Deaf Mission Team – January 2011

Lutheran Deaf Mission Society

The LDMS Ghana Deaf Mission team is getting ready to return to Ghana! They leave on January 12, 2011 for a three-week mission to work with the Deaf Lutherans in Ghana. All members of the team are part of the South Wisconsin Branch of the Lutheran Deaf Mission Society.

We thank the Lord for the safe arrival of the Mission Team in Ghana.  Pictures are posted on the Photo Album page.  

The Mission Team is scheduled to fly into Chicago on Tuesday, Feb. 1.  At this time, the weather forecast is for a major winter storm Tuesday into Wednesday.  Please pray for the Team's safe and timely return.

We praise the Lord that on Sunday, March 21, 2010, the Lutheran Deaf Mission Society — South Wisconsin Branch installed Rev. William Palmer and Rev. John Reinke as missionary pastors called by Emmanuel Deaf Lutheran Church (West Allis, WI) and Our Savior Deaf Lutheran Church (Madison, WI) and seconded to the Lutheran Deaf Mission Society as teachers and equippers.  Patricia Hycnar, our DIT Deaconess Intern, was also installed.  The service took place at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Delavan, Wisconsin.

Preacher was Rev. Dennis Konkel.  Liturgist was Rev. Alan Rork.  Installer was Rev. Bill Wagner, Circuit Counselor.
